Entry Rules for Cyprus Citizens

Cyprus citizens can enter Ukraine visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period for tourism, private visits, business meetings, and other short stays that do not require a work permit.

You must enter with a valid international passport. A Cypriot national ID card is not accepted for border crossing into Ukraine.

Ukraine remains under martial law in 2026. Border officers may apply enhanced checks, so carry printed or offline copies of key documents and be ready to explain your itinerary clearly.

Required Documents

Prepare the following for a smooth visa-free entry:

• International passport valid for at least 6 months (recommended) and in good condition (no major damage).

How much money may be requested at the border: the minimum can be calculated by the official formula FO = ((20 × Pm) ÷ 30) × (Kd + 5), where Pm (subsistence minimum) in 2026 is 3,209 UAH and Kd is your planned number of days in Ukraine. For a 30-day stay, the minimum is about 24,344 UAH.

• Carry your passport and entry stamp copy; keep digital copies stored securely.
• Save emergency numbers: 112 (single emergency line), 101 fire, 102 police, 103 ambulance, 104 gas emergency.

Kyiv and other major cities can be visited, but conditions can change quickly. Avoid restricted areas, do not photograph military sites or checkpoints, and follow official instructions on the ground.

Customs

Ukraine uses a green/red corridor system at customs.

Green corridor (generally allowed without written declaration and without taxes):

• Personal belongings
• Goods for personal use up to EUR 500 and 50 kg
• Food products (not for sale) up to EUR 200
• Cash up to EUR 10,000 (or equivalent). Above this amount, declare and be ready to show proof of withdrawal/source.

Export rules (key points): goods under EUR 10,000 can usually be exported without written declaration; above EUR 10,000 requires declaration. Certain categories (weapons, narcotics, cultural/historical values without permits, explosives, radioactive substances) are prohibited or tightly controlled.

Driving

Ukraine has right-hand traffic. Carry your driving licence, passport, and vehicle registration at all times. Seat belts are mandatory for the driver and front passenger.

Foreign-plated vehicles: foreign citizens may generally drive a foreign-plated car in Ukraine for up to 1 year. After the one-year period, the vehicle must leave Ukraine.

Children in cars: children under 12 must use appropriate child restraints; transporting a child in the front seat without a child seat is prohibited. Children over 12 must wear seat belts.

Checkpoints during martial law: slow down, prepare documents, follow instructions, and be ready for vehicle inspection. Turn off and remove dashcams/phones from visible recording positions when requested, and never film military personnel or equipment.
