Entry Rules for Tajikistan Citizens (2026)

Tajikistan citizens can enter Ukraine visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period for tourism, private visits, business meetings, or transit. Entry is allowed only with a valid international passport. National ID cards are not accepted for border crossing.

Ukraine is under martial law in 2026. Border checks can be more detailed than usual, and travelers may be asked additional questions about their route, accommodation, and plans.

Financial means (2026): the border service may check your ability to cover expenses. The minimum is calculated by the formula FO = ((20 × Pm) ÷ 30) × (Kd + 5), where Pm = 3,209 UAH (subsistence minimum for 2026) and Kd is the number of days of stay. Example: for 30 days, the minimum is 24,344 UAH.

Travel Insurance

Safety

Safety conditions vary by region. Follow these practical steps:

• Carry your passport and migration documents with you (or a secure copy if advised by your accommodation).
• Do not photograph or film checkpoints, military personnel, air defense positions, or military vehicles.
• Save emergency numbers and your embassy/consular contacts in your phone.

Emergency number: 112 (single number for emergency services). Also used: 101 fire, 102 police, 103 ambulance, 104 gas emergency.

Customs

Green corridor is for items that do not require written declaration and are within duty-free limits. You can generally bring:

• Personal belongings
• Goods up to EUR 500 total value and up to 50 kg
• Food for personal use (not for sale) up to EUR 200
• Cash up to EUR 10,000 (or equivalent) without declaration
• Medicines (non-narcotic/non-psychotropic): typically up to 5 packages of each medicine per person

Red corridor is required for items that must be declared or need permits, including:

Driving

Ukraine has right-hand traffic. If you enter with your own car:

• Arrange mandatory third-party liability insurance valid in Ukraine before driving.
• Foreign citizens may use a car with foreign plates in Ukraine for up to 1 year for personal use. If you stay more than 2 months, you must contact an МВД (Ministry of Internal Affairs) service center for temporary vehicle registration.

Seat belts are mandatory for the driver and front passenger. Children under 12 must use appropriate child restraints; children cannot ride in the front seat without a child seat.

Checkpoints: slow down, prepare documents, follow instructions, and avoid using a dashcam/phone recording at the checkpoint. You may be asked to open the trunk and allow inspection.
