  • Analytics providers: aggregated traffic and engagement metrics.

3. How we use your data

If GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Consent: for optional cookies, marketing communications, and certain tracking technologies (where required).
  • Contract: to provide requested services or respond to pre-contract inquiries.
  • Legitimate interests: to operate, secure, and improve the Website; measure performance; and manage referrals, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.

5. Insurance referrals and third-party websites

The Website may link to insurers, brokers, assistance companies, booking services, or other third-party sites. When you click a referral link, you may be redirected to a third party that operates under its own privacy policy and cookie practices. We do not control third-party websites and are not responsible for their content, security, or privacy practices.

Important: If you apply for or purchase insurance through a third party, that provider may collect data such as passport details, date of birth, travel dates, and health-related information. SafeTrip Ukraine does not collect or store special category data (such as health data) unless you explicitly provide it in a message to us.

6. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • enable core website features (session management, security);
  • remember preferences (language, cookie choices);
  • analyze traffic and site usage;
  • measure affiliate/referral performance;
  • support advertising/remarketing where enabled and permitted by law.

6.1 Cookie choices

You can control cookies through:

  • our cookie banner/consent tool (where available);
  • your browser settings (block/delete cookies);
  • device settings for mobile identifiers (where applicable).

Blocking certain cookies may affect Website functionality.

7. Analytics, advertising, and affiliate tracking

We may use analytics tools to understand Website performance and user behavior. We may also use affiliate tracking parameters and referral IDs to measure which pages or links drive referrals. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies.

Where required by law, we request consent before enabling non-essential analytics or advertising cookies.

8. Comments and user-generated content (if enabled)

If comments are enabled on the Website, we may collect the data shown in the comments form, your IP address, and browser user agent string to help spam detection. If you use a profile image service (such as Gravatar), an anonymized string created from your email address may be provided to that service. Any information you post publicly may be visible to others.

9. How we share personal data

We share personal data only as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy:

  • Service providers (processors): hosting, content delivery networks, security services, analytics providers, email delivery, and WordPress-related plugins that support site operations.
  • Affiliate and referral partners: to attribute referrals and prevent fraud; typically via referral IDs and aggregated reporting.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Business changes: in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.

10. International data transfers

Your data may be processed outside your country of residence, including in countries that may not provide the same level of data protection. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers (for example, standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms).

11. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy:

  • Contact requests: typically retained for up to 24 months after the last interaction, unless a longer period is required for legal or security reasons.
  • Newsletter data: retained until you unsubscribe or we discontinue the newsletter.
  • Analytics and referral logs: retained according to configured retention periods (often 14–26 months), then deleted or anonymized.
  • Security logs: retained for a limited period to detect and prevent abuse.

12. Security

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including access controls, encryption in transit (HTTPS), and security monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
